How the solver works
Type your guess, then click each tile to set its colour so it matches your game: grey for a letter that isn't in the word, yellow for a right letter in the wrong place, and green for a letter in the correct spot. Press Add clue and we instantly filter the dictionary down to every word that fits, ranked by how likely and useful they are as a next guess.
The solver supports word lengths from 3 to 11 letters, so it works with the classic game, longer variants and everything in between. It's a great way to learn better strategies — or to rescue a tricky streak. Play fair and have fun!
Good Wordle starting words
Strong openers use common letters. Words like CRANE, SLATE, TRACE, CRATE and AUDIO test lots of frequent letters early. Follow up with a second word that covers new letters you haven't tried yet.
